Founder Huang Tianyu participated in an internship program jointly organized by the Beijing Film Academy and New Zealand’s Wēta Workshop, where he contributed to the behind-the-scenes production of The Hobbit series and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. After returning to China, he spent several years directing numerous stop-motion animations and commercial shorts.

He founded Studio MDI, a practical effects studio that provides specialized props, costumes, and vehicle production services for China’s science fiction film and television industry. The team notably contributed to the special art production of the first movie“ The Wandering Earth”.

The team contributed to the advanced design and production phases of the Guangdong-Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Innovation Museum, with a particular focus on the four floors showcasing authentic medicinal herbs and the future-themed exhibition hall.

The team also collaborated with the production crew of The Sacrifice,directed by Fan Guo, undertaking the creation of the F4U airplane cabin. Additionally, the team secured the contract for the design and construction of the “Voyage to Mars” exhibition area at the Shanghai Planetarium within the same year.
